I am fascinated by migration and various ways that family networks directly shaped movement of people and ideas in the early modern era. I find that the study of gendered power and identity formation related to early Atlantic movement offers a compelling way to explore and explain how the individuals and their communities engaged with national and global influences. UTA’s transatlantic PhD program offers the perfect fit for me to creatively explore my dissertation research.
