Thank you for your patience as we have been working hard to make improvements to the website. While there is still much to be done, we wanted to take a minute to let you know what has been done and what we are working on next.
What we have done:
-We have updated the 2016 Conference page to include not only the Call for Papers but information on the Conference’s location but also a hospitality page where you can find: direction to UTA from DFW, transportation while here, and nearby hotels. We will continue to update details about the Conference as they get finalized.
-We have also updated the contacts page. To email one of the THSO officers you would have to copy and then paste their email address into a separate window. Now the officer’s email addresses are hyperlinked so that when you click on it, a draft of an email will automatically be created (using your default email service) with the subject line “Question about THSO.” This should make getting answers to your questions even easier.
– We have updated the link to Traversea. Prior to the update, the link would take you to the Traversea homepage. Now the link takes you to the latest volume of the journal.
-We are working on ways to showcase the hard work of the students in the Transatlantic History program and this will show in a number of ways: We are creating a calendar section that will show upcoming events our students are participating in; we are updating our contact page to show the social media sites our officers belong to; we are working on an up to date list of all PhD students are where they are in the program; and lastly but most importantly we are fine tuning our “Focus On” section to include direct feeds from the THSO twitter page along with our more active students (at least in terms of social media).
